On the July cover of Virtuoso, The Magazine, a woman holding a green briefcase labeled “The Hotel Issue” stands inside the silhouette of a “Do not disturb” door hanger.

Stay awhile.

CHECKING IN
Robert Wright, wearing a brown wool sweater, gazes at the camera.

Robert Wright, cofounder of Morocco’s Beni Rugs, shares what he’s been loving lately.

Packing: The softest possible socks for long flights. I love the bamboo ones from Jacques NYC.

Reading: Weekend mornings are made for real magazines and newspapers. Neptune Papers is at the top of my list for an edited, fresh take on design. I also love the Financial Times’ HTSI; poring over the FT Weekend Magazine on Sunday with a cup of coffee is one of my favorite parts of the week.

Watching: A few recent films have really stayed with me, including All of Us Strangers. I’ve also been going back to some older favorites like Tár, Nocturnal Animals, and I Am Love. Twisted, moody glamour is my genre of choice.

Dreaming of: You’ll find me in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Amagansett, the Costa Brava, Antiparos, and Hydra this summer.

OUTBOUND

Out soon: Pisa Loves Bella, a new children’s book by Virtuoso, The Magazine contributor Kimberley Lovato. In Provence, the Fondation Carmignac’s summer exhibition is live now. A must-buy coffee-table retrospective on the great Japanese designer Issey Miyake. Away x La Ligne – say less. Cheers to the weekend.
