A red train emerges from a tunnel underneath the snowcapped Jungfrau Mountains.

On the move.

Wherever you want to go in Switzerland, you can get there via train. For Virtuoso, The Magazine contributor Adam Erace, that meant riding the rails to find specialty coffee in Lucerne, natural wine in Lausanne, and contemporary fine dining in Interlaken. Get a taste of today’s Swiss landscape in his report below. Plus: Stories for eclipse hunters and family cruisers, and travel essentials according to designer Jacu Strauss.

CHECKING IN
Jacu Strauss, wearing red glasses and a red blazer, gazes at the camera.

Jacu Strauss, creative director at Lore Group and designer of the new Flower Collector’s Suite at the Pulitzer Amsterdam, shares what he’s been loving lately. Photo courtesy of Pulitzer Amsterdam.

Packing: Ross J. Barr Sleep and Calm patches – Ross is a brilliant acupuncturist based in London, and these are a travel must-have for relaxing and sleep. They’re so good, we stock them in our hotel minibars. I’m also rarely without some Tabasco sauce – it’s my favorite.

Reading: The World of Interiors is always my go-to magazine. The last book I was obsessed with was Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara.

Admiring: British artist Alfie Caine has become one of my favorite artists, and I’ve been a huge fan of Maciej Urbanek for over a decade. I also recommend a visit to antiques dealer Anouk Beerents’ showroom in Amsterdam.

Dreaming of: Japan.

OUTBOUND
