Patagonia’s Río Chacabuco runs through a rocky ravine covered with green trees, with blue mountains in the distance.

Travel for good.

For us, Earth Month means celebrating travel that makes a difference. That may entail forgoing the usual summer-vacay suspects in favor of under-the-radar retreats, choosing to check into a hotel designed with local materials (and an abundance of greenery), or going carbon neutral on a dream trip to Patagonia. Keep scrolling for expert advice and more responsible-travel inspiration.

CHECKING-IN-2
Jayme Jenkins (left) and Jessica Stevenson, both wearing neutral colors, smile at the camera.

Jayme Jenkins (left) and Jessica Stevenson, cofounders of sustainable beauty company Everist, share what they’ve been loving lately.

Packing: A reusable water bottle, a Lululemon Everywhere Belt Bag for going hands-free, and Everist concentrates so I can get away with only a carry-on. – Jayme

Reading: I always have a couple of books on the go: Right now it's Mindsight (tips for creating space for mindfulness) and Bringing Up Bébé (why not combine my love of travel with some French parenting wisdom?). And of course, I’m always reading beauty news. – Jessica

Planning: I’m spending the summer in Tuscany with my two kids and doing a kind of work-and-learn-abroad program for families. I'm so excited. We lived abroad before we had children and it's something I truly miss. – Jayme

Turks and Caicos is next on our list for some sun and quality family time. – Jessica

OUTBOUND

The third season of The White Lotus will officially take place in Thailand. Until then, we’re eagerly anticipating Wes Anderson’s new movie, set in a fictional U.S. desert town. These airports were just named the world’s busiest. Photos of salt harvesting around the world make for an enticing scroll, while this Ukrainian artist’s 3D paintings are truly tempting.
